Car Rider Morning Drop-Off: The car rider drop-off lane is on the west side of the building. Enter the driveway next to the Goodwill building and follow the yellow road markers to drop off your child. Student drop off begins at 7:30 AM.
Car Rider After School Pick-Up: Space is limited for after school pick-up. Please communicate with your child as to where you will be parked for afternoon pick-up along the north side of Outer Park Drive. Please do not park along the south side of Outer Park Drive.
Student Morning Entry: All students (walkers, bus riders, bike riders, and car riders) will enter the building through the Morning Entry Doors. Doors open at 7:30 AM. FMS Staff will greet and direct students each day.
Metal Detectors: A safety protocol has been put into at all middle schools. All students who attend Franklin Middle School pass through metal detectors as they enter the building. Students will need to have their laptops, chargers, cell phones, and binders out of their bags. These items will be placed in baskets and passed around our metal detectors in order to expedite the process. We are encouraging students to not bring any unnecessary metal items to school with them each day.
Parent Entry/Office Visits: All visitors to Franklin Middle School will enter through the Main Entrance Doors on the east side of the building. During the first two weeks of school, we are asking parents to please schedule visits to the school after 9:00 AM. This allows the FMS administration and security ample time to bring students into the building in a safe and orderly fashion. We want to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize safety and security.
Technology: Chromebooks will be distributed to all students during the first week of September.
School Website: We encourage parents to visit our school website: franklin.sps186.org/o/franklin.
Please download the app as well!
School Physicals: All new students and incoming 6th graders must have a school physical and immunization records on file and turned into the school by October 1. Students who do not have these records on file will be excluded on October 1. Please contact our school nurse with questions.
Dress Code: Students are expected to be in school district dress code on the first day of school and every day at FMS. You can find the dress code on the FMS website.
Cell Phones: Students can bring cell phones to school. Cell phones must be kept in lockers during the school day.
