As the city continues to work through the water main break in front of FMS on Outer Park
Drive, we are needing ALL parents that are picking up today to please pull into the Town and Country Shopping Center parking lot and find your designated waiting spot by grade level. Students will be on the sidewalks in front of the shopping center with District 186 staff supervising.
We are asking that after you park your car in our designated waiting spot that you walk to your student to pick them up. Due to the amount of traffic flow in this temporary pick-up operation our student’s safety is our top priority.
Please read and reference the map carefully. Upon arrival, look for wayfinding signs or ask someone in a vest for help:
Parents with multiple students will park in the parking lot of the oldest sibling.
6th grade - parking spots in front of the Board of Elections offices.
7th grade - parking spots in front of Chuck E. Cheese
8th Grade- parking spots in front of Old Burlington Coat Factory
Just a reminder - Parents CANNOT pick up in the West Parking lot by the Salvation Army/Delta Church.
We appreciate your cooperation and flexibility with this procedure.

Cross Country Practice, Cheerleading Clinic, 6th Grade Girls Basketball Practice, and Baseball Practice are canceled today. There are NO ACTIVITIES at FMS today.
Bus Transportation Update
Bus-riding students will begin returning to their regular bus routes.
If you would like to pick up your student from FMS, a parent/guardian must arrive before 9:00 a.m. The parent/guardian must provide identification and be listed as an emergency contact for the student.
Students who are not picked up by 9:00 a.m. will return on their bus to their regular bus stops.
Please be patient as we work through this unforeseen circumstance and coordinate transportation for all students.
If you have questions, please contact the main office. Students have their phones with them if you need to communicate with your student directly.
Due to an unexpected water main issue, FMS does not have running water and will be unable to operate for the remainder of the day. As a result, school at FMS is cancelled for today.
We understand this is very short notice and sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and flexibility as we work through this unexpected situation.
Bus riders: Buses will drop students at FMS this morning, continue their regular routes, and then return to FMS later this morning to transport FMS students back to their regular bus stops.
If you would like to pick up your student before the buses return, you may come to FMS to do so. Additional information regarding student pick-up will be shared shortly.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
